within the last week, i've tried learning for a couple nights. my callouses are on their way. i want to buy a guitar so i can keep my callouses and keep learning, but i hate the guitar as an instrument!
it's just handy because most people who own an instrument own a guitar. so if i'm anywhere and i want to play something, the guitar is good to know.

it sounds like you should buy the violin and carry it around if you think you are going to play. It would be better to do that than play an instrument that doesn't make you as happy.
well it might eventually. i'm just not used to the nature of the guitar. i'm used to pianos and classic strings where you play notes, not chords.
