i should write a book (or a website?) that teaches theory. here's one reason why:

in my dumb theory book, it tells of the different key signatures then has some exercises. for instance, it tells you to write the signature for the key of C or the key of B-flat.

i'm having a lot of fun listening to sufjan steven's michigan and figuring out which key every song is in. not to mention that i'm gaining aural skills and keyboard skills, in addition to learning to write a key signature and memorizing them.

some hands-on theory course with good music would be pretty awesome.
