... and let the Earth be silent after ye.
Got my IMAX ticket last night! Midnight sold out too quickly for me to get one, so I had to settle for 3AM. Oh well. Worth it.

3am is awesome... I used to hit up 3am imax in manhattan all the time.

Go in at 3, come out at dawn... and the guys working the theater were lax as hell...

people would come in with like diner made pancakes and beer... it'd be a great time.

I loved it.

With nearly 25,000 votes on IMDb and a rating of 9.5, The Dark Knight has overtaken The Godfather as #1 on the Top 250.

Honestly, this feels almost right. I just need to set down and watch it again.

I watched a cam of it today. Was a really good cam actually, a little grainy but was to be expected. The sound was good, could hear everything they were saying and no audience noises.

I liked it, but I wouldn't say it was the greatest movie ever though.

heath ledger, not overrated... he did an amazing job.

it's a shame he's dead... would have loved to see more of him as joker.

weaker, really? i thought the 2nd one had way more twists and was much more entertaining than the first.

now that i'm reflecting on it i really did like the joker-batman relationship a lot.

but the plot was just simple conflict... joker does some crazy shit, batman saves all, joker does more crazy shit, without regard to $$ and with the intent of fucking up the general morality.

the whole two-face thing ended up being pretty cool. during the film i wasn't that impressed but the ending scene was very powerful.

I thought the entire two-face plotline was unneccesary...especially since it felt like an afterthought; something to make the film longer and even MORE epic. But it was also so rushed it felt like shit went down too fast...I wanted to see more with him.

Epic-ness = bleh.

Favorite lines:
gangsta-dude - "You think you can just steal our money and get away with it??"
Joker - "Yeah."

Also the whole "magic trick" with the pencil. :-D

I though the Dent/Two-Face storyline was very much relevant. Admittedly he doesn't play the same role as he does in the comics, but that's fine. Two-Face isn't a villain in the movie, he's just an exclamation point on the whole story. The Joker turned the best man in Gotham into someone just like him. That was Two-Face's purpose.

I buy that. I guess since I actually recognized the name (even having not actually read any of the comics) I expected him to be a more noteworthy character.

He's usually more noteworthy, but before the 60s (IIRC) he was just another gimmick villain.

Personally, I like this a bit better than his recent comic counterpart. He went from being a villain/vigilante to a message.
