Hardstyle aka Hardcore
There's really no way to ease into this genre... JUMP IN! It's a hard energetic style music. You put a dirty face on and then dance your heart out. Hardstyle of the gods.

Hixxy - More & More

(this Hixxy track is pretty cool in my opinion because it has a psychedelic trance sound to start off with, but i don't really like the female upbeat vocal style that Hixxy is known for.)

Ok there's a few subgenre's of hardcore. One of them being happy hardcore, or HHC. another is called gabber. I normally can only get into regular hardcore, but if you're interested in differentiating the genre's here's a few tracks that exemplify the genre. So the tempo is intense with both, and happy has a positive vibe sound. Gabber can be more raw sounding and not so happy, and there's a lot more vocals that get cut up with gabber, whereas with happy it is mainly just altered to be all high pitched usually. Most of these are pretty annoying but if you're in the right mood and don't mind looking like a jackass dancing to these, it's pretty fun.

Out here in H-town, that I know of, hardcore usually refers to "music" like this:

Don't Let Your Walls Down
that reminds me more of killswitch engage and avenged sevenfold phi, which seem to fall more in the metalcore catagory.

Metalcore and Hardcore have some definite overlap, but don't talk to some hardcore kid about that or they freak out. Seriously, it's weird.

They are pretty indicative of the Cypress-area hardcore scene, but not completely. My brother fronted this band for a long time (he left last year at some point, along with the bassist and guitarist) and his anti-religious attitude put them at odds with the rest of the bands out here who are very much Christian. He got into plenty of fights while playing because of it, which makes me very proud of my baby boy.

is that one song title "Jesus cheated off of morgan freeman?" lol

I believe the full title is "Jesus Cheated off of Morgan Freeman in the Third Grade".
Yeah, my brother has a sense of humor.
i was just coming from the electronic dance music variety with this thread.
i'll check out the other links when i'm not in class :]
nothin' wrong with that kind of hardcore.
also i think of the last link that phi posted being a genre from some kind of post punk hardcore, isn't that called screamo?
one band i used to go see in socal identified themselves as screamo and some sort of rock/punk mix, and they sorta sound like green devon. they aren't around anymore and they sorta dissolved and became a really different type of experimental rock/post rock sounding band though. i think these were the only local people i ever went to go see perform live in the LA area :p

Post hardcore punk makes more sense, but it's just called 'hardcore'.
yeah i don't know why i said post punk... i think just to differentiate between it and the type of music i posted, which is an electronic dance music variety of hardcore.

haha, it's cool. Just thought I'd bring it up.
