Movies watched this weekend(ratings, -4 to +4):

-Tideland: +0. Terry Gilliam seemed to not know what movie he was making.
-Nightmare: +2. This movie had no right being as good as it was.
-Hamster Cage: +4. Easily the best movie I watched.
-Apocolypto: -2. This movie tried to be too many things all at once. It needed more focus. That and the editor needs to be lashed.

-Unrest: +0. It would be lower, but the fact that it was made by a former surgeon and he used REAL CADAVERS makes it worthwhile.
-Piano Tuner of Earthquakes: +1. Should have been a short film, but beautiful none the less.
-The Living and the Dead: +3. Second best of the festival so far. It got kind of long-winded after the second act, but well worth it!
-Simon Says: +4. I'm rating this not on a good movie scale, but on a FUN movie scale. Crispin Glover playing TWO roles is THREE times as creepy. Plus now I just walk around going "CHOO! CHOO!" and "You didn't say Simon saaaaayysssss...."

Wednesday: Pan's Labrynth. (We got an employee to verify our guess.)
Thursday: The Fountain. Renaissance. After party + award ceremony. (Let you know Friday...)

Well, I'm pretty upset right now. Because of the activities on Wednesday, I wasn't able to go to The Fountain. Upset isn't accurate. I'm livid.

But, I gave my pass to my friend John. He's been dying to see this movie, like me, for six years. Since he realized how upset I was by not being able to go he pulled Darren Aronofsky aside after he presented and had him call me.

I got to talk to Darren Aronofsky on the phone. :)
