I'm asemisldkfj@jabber.org and asemisldkfj on AIM. I'd like to set up my own Jabber server at some point or if anyone knows of a more reliable one than jabber.org, let me know! maybe I'll just use my Google ID. any drawbacks to that?

^ Gmail names do operate on other servers now(verified with a hottie lady at work). Seems reliable enough.

what do you mean operate on other servers?
It means that Gmail can interact with other XMPP servers. When it first came out, it was unable to. This means you can have gmail chat up in your inbox, and chat with someone on example@jabber.org

this is kind of temporary until I set up the Jabber server to authenticate against a database or something. then I will probably have asemisldkfj instead of brain. I might try to set it up so Jabber and Postfix/Dovecot authenticate against the same database.
