i'm ripping all of my cds to mp3 (using lame's extreme v=0 new). want some?

complete list to come (about 64 albums total, some very old, some very new).

ive been doin that for some time. i started cause i had a tendency to scrach the cd i bought while it was in my car. so for some time now, i always rip the new cd before i ever play it in my car or in anything else.

i usually just kept them around. but i gotta get rid of everything i don't really need, which includes three cases of cds. everything i own has to me in my desk at work or in my car, and i like to keep things tidy and organized (and thus minimal).

i do the same thing as chiken, rip the cd before any use. if i want it in my car i burn a copy but otherwise the original goes into storage.

so what are you doing with your car while you will be homeless?

i use it to drive to my campsites (it's hard for me to find reasonable sites in town).

I definitely might be into buying some of them. waiting on a list.

I like owning CDs. same as I like owning books that I like. nothing beats my portable CD player!

off site backups? mostly beacuse i bought them and have a hard time justifying losing the primary source of cost.
at this point i usually go in on 5 cd's with a friend and let them keep the cds.

I usually go in on rare vinyls with zach. we split the cost of the bad religion cd, into the unkown. its an album that was so bad, the band denied ever making it and even went around destroying copies of it. it basically killed the bands reputation as a badass punk bad in the 80's

these are all ripped using cdparanoia (full paranoia mode) and encoded using lame (extreme fast, which is VBR V0 target 245kbps). i can provide any of these albums in mp3. if you have an interest in owning the cd, let me know.
