fedex has destroyed the progress i made in less cursing.
I saw the first advertisement banner the a month ago in chicago that had IM lingo in it. I would consider that destroying vocabulary… but it's an easy way into targeting that age group.
You know in the next 20-30 years, 'im speak' or 'txt speak' will sneak its way into everyday writing. . .

I'm not convinced that shit will ever get into academic writing.
it's not that hard to go between talking online on a forum (not using caps if I feel lazy, using abbreviations like lol or whatever, etc.) and typing a paper. dunno why people have trouble with it.
