what do you consider a virtue?
me: tolerance, wisdom, humility, justice.

the law is no protection
uncertainty, and everything you said.
virtue:
courage, self-control, generosity, tolerance
deficient vices:
self-indulgence, non generosity, cowardice
excess vices
being rash, lavishness, inhibition
i think typically self-control is simply application of the virtues, which seems unnecessary to include as a virtue. that would be like including virtue as a virtue.
why courage, generosity, self-indulgance, inhibition up there?
Courage is the virtuous balance between rash behavior, and cowardice.
Generosity is a virtuous balance between inhibition, and self-indulgence.
Aristotlian virtue is pretty similar to what I am talking about.
i'm asking why did you choose them?
i'm not sure if i believe that generosity is a balance between inhibition and self-indulgance.
fuck justice.

a caveat about tolerance: it should be Paulo Freire's notion of tolerance.

I love him.
honesty, loyalty, passion, intelligence, courage, and an ability to love (maybe that is a combination of passion and courage)
I don't buy courage as being a balance "between rash behavior, and cowardice". Courage for me is when you recognize a dangerous situation and you choose to step willingly into it despite your own fear.
