My love of all things left-of-center has led me to start playing games that aren't on shelves, solely because I'm an asshole about these things. I've been looking at a few, and thought I'd share some of my favorites:

not indie but a pretty cool dev is stardock. they do all sorts of weird desktop customization stuff but i like galciv.

i think i am going to check out 'sins of a solar empire'. i saw some dude playing it on the train (i didn't know it was it) and searched for '3d space rts' and lo and behold.
