i want a cheap 2.0 setup for my bathroom shower. i bought the $30 altec lansing vs2420 from staples and it's pretty awful. the left channel drops occasionally. the sound is muddy. they crack sometimes. and best of all, the bottom speakers/drivers don't work! (i think they are just for looks--the ac brick is integrated.)
so i guess i'll return these and get some cheaper ones. i'm going to hate any system's sound that costs under $100, so i may as well save $15.
which should i get?
logitech s-120
1.15 watt/channel, 50-20k, $15.33

logitech r-10
2 watt/channel, 70-20k, $12.94

creative inspire 245
2 watt/channel, 90-20k, $18.93

i'd go for the creatives, because i like my creative speakers more the my father's logitech ones. i think mine are a lot more expensive than his though, so i dunno...
cheap as free is the way to go.
i found the speakers i use for my computer :O
if you've got the time, you could build some waterproof ones and use them in the bathtub :D
haha
hey, it'd be fun. now i think i'll have to do something like that myself.
don't have the time. :(
i hate these shitheads who review cheap 2.0 systems by saying "OMG THEY HAVE NO BASS WHATSOEVER."
duh?
i just bought the creative inspire 245. they are available for ~$10 (not including shipping) at some e-tailers. i went with amazon for $18 with my free two-day shipping. \o/
i think the 245's freq. range is smart if they do a hpf at 90hz. there's no reason for anything lower than that going to the little 2" speakers.
ozntz
toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I have a box of r-10s at work but i haven't tried them yet
i got the creative ones. they have even less bass than i expected (i certainly didn't expect much), but that's okay.
the mids and highs are very crisp and clear--much better than the pair of altec lansing shit.
not super loud, but very nice for my purposes.
