penelope iii, my lenovo thinkpad x60s, just saw the death of its eight-cell battery.
i'm thinking about responding by selling the laptop and not having a computer.
any takers? (i can get you a brand-new 8-cell with my educational discount for $150.)
!!!!
no computer? then what!!?
on that note, I need a new 8-cell too, mine has dismal battery life
actually, dc (ozntz on ttf) just offered me a ibm thinkpad a21m. so i'll use that. i'm also considering building a silent microatx desktop with a large lcd (22" or 24").
i don't know if i still want to be in the x60(s) army.
what are you looking for in the way of price?
i have no idea. i'm watching some ebay auctions to get an idea of what it's worth.
i'm guessing somewhere around $600.
cool, i'll probably call you about it today.

was that your main computer or did you just have it extra?
doesn't seem like you have had that long enough to have the battery go out. sucks.
whats the title of this thread?
it's "penelope the third" in greek.
it is my main computer.
the battery had 400 cycles--i don't know what happened.
newegg sells the battery for less than lenovo, even with the educational discount:

i'm hoping for $600 to $700.
i think my battery crapped out too. the orange battery thing is blinking quickly all the time and i don't think it is charging. damn.
if that is the case i'll probably get a new battery... :(
yep, happy little thinkpad power manager tells me 'irreparable damage to battery has been detected'.
i'll probably get a battery on ebay.
my battery is on cycle 397.
damn.
for accuracy, mine was actually on cycle 398.
