nothing is wrong - what are you scared of?
just curious as to what countries or states everyone would like to:

live in permanently
hate to live in
visit (2 or 3 weeks)
extended visit (6 months - 1 year+)

you don't have to answer all of them, just a general list and an explanation. I will post mine later.

Don't Let Your Walls Down
I would love to do an extended stay in France, and possibly live in the southern part down by the Mediterranean. I've also wanted to visit Australia for a 2 to 3 week type of vacation.

i'm getting really sick of winter. so i'd like to live somewhere more temperate.

that's about all i know. i wouldn't mind trying to live in places that i think i'd hate, because i might be surprised.

Permanently: i wouldn't mind living in a warmer place.. winter does get old. Going to try oregon out. It seems like a nice middle ground. california would be too hot for me i think. Out of the 3 foreign countries i've visited, i could not see myself living in any of them permanently (mexico, vietnam, cambodia).

Hate to live in: pretty much any Eastern State. i've never been there, but i dont really have the desire to live there. I plan on visiting new york some time just to experience it. Yeah russia sounds pretty shitty, will agree with that. I'd also pass on living in Canada, cuba, and most gigantic cities Paris, NY, LA etc.. and i'd especially hate florida probably.

Visit: Iceland, Norway, Egypt, japan, new zealand, Uruguay, Italy, Spain. I think Iceland is #1 on my list. I've been captivated by images of that country. the landscape varies greatly and the people are extremely nice. Plus i'd get a chance to see Sigur ros and Bjork :) I feel drawn to this place.

Extended visit: I've been considering teaching english abroad. I'd love to try this in Thailand or India.

Perm: I'm not really the permanent type of person, but I like the west coast. I think I'll end up living most of my life on this side of the continent.
Hate life: Clearwater, Florida.
Visit: Madagascar. I really want to go shoot macros of all the awesome insects there. Or the Peruvian Amazon!
Extended: Thailand

andyp, have you seen heima the movie? If not I think you'll really like the scenery :)

the law is no protection
permanently: like most everyone else, I might like to live somewhere warmer. I'm in New England now and the winters are kind of miserable. ideally I'd like to be somewhere where I can swim in a lake year-round :). I've heard good things about San Francisco, but I've never been to California so I don't know. I need to visit more places!

hate: most suburban areas. Pennsylvania seems pretty miserable. at least most of it.

visit: everywhere (pretty much)! in particular though, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Iran, China, Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, Nigeria, and Egypt.

extended visit: any of the places above if I liked them enough :).

yeah, I'm talking more the not-urban areas. I've never really been to Philly or Pittsburgh. Harrisburgh was fucking miserable though.
