this is kinda a different theme compared to the "touring commuting camping cycling" thread.
i primarily shop at:

please provide other online retailer suggestions.

i am currently looking for bulk green brake (cantilever) cable housing.
i found some for linear pull brakes (not what i want):

i flipped my stem down (26deg angle), and now my brake housing hanger is way too tight. i could use a noodle to angle it, but i think i'm going to do it more cleanly and buy this:

more to come...
this place is selling some
old green housing:
http://www.firstflightbikes.com/brakes-l.htm
notice that they have a few different green housing items. i'm kinda scared of older housing. (the lining may not be up to par.)
in the future, when the time comes, i think i'll get:
conti gatorskins for my next tires (maybe summer 2009)
chris kind green headset for my next headset (maybe in a few years or more)
i got the noodle working (and it works great!), but it looks too ghetto for my tastes.
so i placed an order ($51.44 after shipping) with universal cycles:
interloc long drop cable hanger, $24
torelli brake cables, ss, (3), $9
jagwire yellow housing, 25', $9.45 (price match!)
and i totally forgot to buy a couple tubes with my order. >:0
CHRIS KING?!
oops.. yeah.

hahaha is the price messed up on that site or something?
I've got Gatorskins on both of my bikes; no complaints. I'd like to try something a little more performance-oriented on my road bike like Vittoria Rubino Pros. I just got a sweet deal on the Gatorskins so I couldn't pass it up. 700x25 on both bikes!
sweetest deal I ever got on a headset was this Cane Creek S6 that's on my road bike. I think they go for something like 80 USD but it was on clearance for something like 20 :).
that reminds me, I shop at Performance Bike like lucas mentioned,
nashbar.com , eBay, and I usually check sites like Google Shopping and Yahoo! Shopping.
I've gotten nice deals on stuff through weird semi-sketchy online stores that I found through Google and Yahoo. they are a little bit less sketchy because I can use PayPal or Google Checkout or something. I got a Thomson seatpost (something else that is on both of my bikes :)) from
ebikestop.com (I think) and it was something like 40 or 50 bucks after a Google Checkout sign-up incentive of ten bucks I also found the site that I bought my frame from via Google Shopping. you can usually search the web for the name of a bike shop and find threads on
bikeforums.net about people's experiences.
the long drop cable hanger is awesome! it's crazy solid and light. it also drops enough to make my cable housing happy. got the new housing, cables, and bar tape all done! pictures soon.

The shoes finally match!
even got a green thing on the end of that wire :D
the light is awful, so it's hard to see, but the nipples are green too.

looks awesome! I love that it matches the shoes.
nipples?
yeah, they attach the spokes to the rim.
i just thought of a cool idea that i hadn't seen--a custom headset cap!
sure enough, they exist.
