I got the Motofone F3 and I think I'm sticking with it!
I've dropped the E61 a couple of times but nothing has broken. it has a few scratches on the back, but nothing major. I can take pics if anyone is interested.
you can use it with any GSM carrier in the US and probably elsewhere if they use a supported frequency or whatever.
uh I don't know what else to say about it. there's been a screen protector on it for all but two or three days that I've had it so the screen is in perfect shape.
I'll sell it (with the charger of course) for 150 USD + ten or so bucks shipping.

haha yeah, I should have updated this thread.
I'm definitely on the market for a smartphone. I'm just really picky about what I want so I need to do more research.

what features are you looking for?
good media player, or at least the possibility of adding one.
the possibility of adding things in general :)
wifi, good keyboard. i guess that's about it. a decent os that isn't going to annoy me. budget of a few hundred bucks. 3g prolly as well

cool. E61 has all of that except maybe the media player. I never really tried to play any media on it except via the YouTube app which never worked.
the e51 is nice too, and the youtube app works. if you convert your video to flv you can use that app to view them. the screen is pretty small though. if you want a really good keyboard, you can buy a bluetooth one and connect it :)
i prefer a larger form factor, if it's going to be the only device i carry.

just get an iPhone. it's the only device I know of that has done a good job of integrating music listening and phone capabilities. too bad the touchscreen keyboard kind of sucks.
but does it do flac?
this post has been archived.
:D
but srsly, i'd convert flac to V2 for a solid state portable player.
yeah i'm thinking for simplicity's sake i'd like a smartphone that can play flac. until apple introduces flac support for their products i'm boycotting them.

how are you going to fit a reasonable amount of flac files on any portable player?
1-4gb is enough for me. i've totally given up on having a significant amount of my library on a dap.

makes sense if your library is flac :). do any phones even support flac? what are you going to do for headphones? I also don't know of any smartphones with normal 1/8" headphone jacks :( (other than the iphone).
some blackberrys have 3.5mm jacks. i might get one of those, they have solid screens and support h.264 & xvid

Nestor,
I plan to upgrade my phone in 6 months. Think you would be interested then?
I'm planning on getting one in the next few weeks. Do you have an e61 right now? Do you like it?

yesI do. And I love it.
browsing on an iPod touch. Now I want an iPhone.

using those touch keyboards make me not want an iPhone. I was browing on an iPod touch earlier today and I think I mistyped "gta iv" like five times in a row. this was with the horizontal keyboard too!
I'm still loving my Motofone.
