the different types of paper are pretty neat too. I'm interested in this metallic print business. the sample they sent is pretty sexy.

oh, see 2001! it took me like 3 tries to actually not fall asleep during it because of the pace, length, and audio. if you're able to stay awake you may like it quite a bit as a scifi lover(or friend)!

I loved the original... The sequel sucked.
But the original was probably my favorite movie of all time. What I loved most about it... was the director (who died before the other film went to filming... it was completed by his jackass son..) Wanted it to be watched by kids.
In fact he was pissed when it didn't get a Japanese equivalent of a G rating.
The backstory is he was a kid during ww2. And he was forced to work in a munitions factory. The allies bombed the factory killing most of his friends... and he was forced to clean up the bodies... as a result he wrote the battle royale books as a message to kids about not trusting adults. The whole point of the movie was to ingrain in kids a deep mistrust of adults and establishments.
Which with his history I find to be a kind of odd little quirk of history so to speak.
Really amazing movie though... sometimes the Japanese "over-dramatic" really is subtle enough to just make a film great.
Did you see the girl from kill bill in there =D She was one of many shout outs to asian cinema in that film. I think she played Chigusa.

I love that they've ditched the stereotypical cold, calculating, clean fighting style of the non-Daniel Craig bond movies. Watching him gracelessly falling off roofs and slamming into walls on slightly-misjudged jumps is far more realistic (and much more interesting!) :D

+ 7 hours after the ordeal begins, it ends. Print is in order (after having to cut it up in nearly 30 places) and with minimal scratching.
+ none of the managers are upset about anything, and we managed to fix a dropped print in 7 hours. (Last time a print was dropped [Spiderman 3], it took three days.)

went on to do what i came to oslo for: got the shop where i bought my mont blanc pen to sent it in for repair (i dropped it on the floor with the nib down)
went to an italian cafe and had some kind of calzone, tiramisu and an espresso. finished a chapter in the fabric of the cosmos while the girls at the table next to me were talking french and giggling wildly
looked at stuff in shops before returning to the bus terminal. tried helping this confused lady there. went to the ntnu stand. picked up some catalogs and merch, and talked with the students some more. got home

Built a lounge at work. Consists of:
+ 2 theatre chairs w/ cupholders
+ TV + amp and speaker
+ cush red area rug
+ small table made out of milk crates, a shelf, and a thick, black tablecloth
All in a 6' x 6' (1.8m x 1.8m for you metric folk) area behind the stairs. Pictures to come!

Spent the morning at the range. Bruised up my chest/shoulder firing 50 rounds from my Mosin! 7.62mm x 54R ftw.
Also, put in my application at a new movie theatre that's opening up.
