I'm moving my web hosting to a personal shell account I have so I'm not longer going to be offering shell account service. I'm going to cancel Slicehost on October 19th, so if you could have your grab whatever you want from your home directories by then that would be awesome. if you need any help or have any questions or anything just ask!

haha I'm sorry! I don't want to pay 20 bucks/month anymore.
phi_: do you want an account on my seedbox?

Maybe. I only use it for minor web hosting (eg, images).
oh. so would you like an account on my production web server? (i can offer you a subdomain of wingedleopard.net, or you can use your own domain.)

I'm not going to worry about it just now. If I feel I need one in the future, I'll give you a holler.
ok.

haha, I have backups of that for sure.
Y'all better read it online before it's too late. :)

sorry matt! I'm bummed that I won't be able to offer them anymore, but such is life.
asemi: slicehost was acquired by rackspace, and rackspace has launched a service that is essentially a hybrid of slicehost and aws ec2.
for low bandwidth usage, it's very cheap. a 256MB RAM/10GB HDD instance costs $0.015/hour (bandwidth is a la carte). in other words, running something identical to a 256-slice can cost as little as $10/month.

ooh, thanks for the info.
