I would also like to know why you are switching from Apache.
because apache is working improperly. virtualhosts are serving https when i turn sslengine off and only tell them to listen on port 80.
Still sounds like a vhost issue. Mind showing us some configs?

oh, i get it now. the ttf ssl vhost is the default vhost for ssl/p443, so it is served.
i guess i just need to create a default ssl/p443 vhost that denies access if not using "ssl.thinktankforums.com".
yet another reason why i dislike name-based vhosts.
