i'm partial to open source stuff.

about the last one in the list, it's a pretty successful software clone of the popular Roland TB303 hardware synthesizer that wasn't very widely produced but was popular with one of my favorite types of musc: Goa trance. there is yet another branch that's called ReBorn, which is a linux clone of the ReBirth software.

i may be getting my hands on reborn, which is a little difficult to find because the people that made it came into legal issues by propellerhead software because it was considered copyright infringement.

rebirth is available for OS X and Windows XP/Vista/2k if you register at their site http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/

we actually use audacity at q2. guess they just got tired of licensing adobe audition. i haven't used it though.
