I keep intermittently caring about waffles. about a month ago I uploaded a bunch of stuff and seeded it for a few days and then I restarted my computer for some reason and forgot to start my bt client. I should really run it on my router.
I need to be more active there... that place has a soft spot in my heart.

We believe our database may have been potentially compromised. Although the passwords are strongly encrypted, to be on the safe side, we still suggest all users change their passwords.
Edit: Just a heads up, we plugged the hole that allowed this to happen.
Edit 2: It is advisable to change your passkeys - you can now do this yourselves (for a limited time) in your profile.

gosh, it's not very easy to update my tracker announce info :( i did it a ghetto way and it didn't work for some reason. i have been slowly duplicating the data on euterpe from icarus and so i thought it would just be fine if i updated the torrent files on icarus using utorrent and upload it back to euterpe. i did that and it didn't seem to update. though torrents seem to seed fine from icarus here. :\

well i was able to just re-download all of the torrent files from my snatched list.
i use different passwords for different sites:
a. secure connection, secure database, mission critical
b. secure connection, secure database
c. secure connection, possibly insecure database
d. insecure connection
e. worthless accounts
my waffles password was a class (c) password. so i already assumed that the database could be (and therefore was) compromised. i'm not changing my password. it's hashed anyway. i'll assume sha1 or better, and my password is strong enough to be resilient to brute force attacks in my lifetime.
it's a bummer than passkeys have to be changed. luckily i'm not really seeding much presently.

it probably has to do with rtorrent. have you properly stopped and removed all of the old torrents? rtorrent will not seed two torrents with the same hash value. perhaps you could spell out exactly what you did.

you don't have to install the script. you simply have to download it and execute it using the python interpreter. it's akin to running a shell script. go for it! python is installed:

oh, if you're using a session directory, the old passkeys are in it. quit rtorrent, delete the session directory, and start rtorrent.
everything is working fine. i was just trying to change the torrent files that were on your server. rtorrent doesn't seem to have any way to edit the announce url's from the client. and save for the script that i didn't want to run(or 'install'?), it doesn't look like there's much of a way to do it. on my laptop i just used utorrent and mass updated the torrents with a right click & properties.
in the end i just did what you mentioned. kill rtorrent, and the session directory, upload all the torrents again and restart.

12kbps upload cap keeps me out of the bt swarms for the most part from what i understand. maybe i can upload stuff, but i don't have a cd drive, nor original quality content. except maybe stuff i can find at the library.
with a lack of uploaded torrents, and cap on upload for seeded files, i don't know what i can do except seed and rarely download. maybe if i re-upload things from other trackers, but it seems a bit tedious, rule wise.
i've started to pick up hot new albums by scouring release lists and grabbing those if i like em.
