Publishing is a newer fascination with me. I want to do some self-publishing with about 20 copies or so. There are quite a few resources online, so I'll look into that. I know you write a lot phi, have you considered small time publishing or big time? I don't have anything to publish. dbrown, you're also on your publishing quest, are you set on who you will publish with?
Maybe I can publish my own and bind them too:

i will publish with whom ever will have me.
what do you write, djb?

I've never really considered small-time publishing; I'd rather someone else do it for me. I might publish other people's work, though... that would be interesting from an editor's P.O.V.
If you want some stuff, I'll be glad to give you stories to publish yourself. If I become famous it will be a completists' nightmare. Bwahaha! I've actually been finishing up a piece I'm going to try and sell to Analog SF/Fantasy magazine because I need $$$. Not the best reason to publish, but it'll have to do for now.

I was thinking about this today while at work and realizing the poor state of popular fiction. I could be some tyrannical, angry editor publishing books that only 3 people would read. I would like that ... a lot. Hrm.

Bump.
I'm looking to get into publishing again, as well as printing and binding them. Experiment time!

This thread is hot.
so i'm thinking about typing up my journals and printing them. i've written about 250 pages. i figure that it would at least make a nice little pocket novel.
i'm also contemplating printing the winged leopard web logs. i can code a php script that converts all of the threads into pdf format. then as a group we could collaborate on the formatting and get it printed!
let me know what you guys think
YEAH!!
I WIN!

i'm really glad someone focused on ocd people for april fool's day :(
so i just finished the epilogue of my journal. it's around 300 pages written (a lot of it is tiny).
i'm starting writing volume ii, now. and i'll type this up early this summer and print it. i don't know how valuable it is to anyone else, but i'll make it available at cost.

I recently printed double-sided and bound (in masking tape!) a collection of my short stories.

... and now to finish that post.
I'm totally looking into real binding. Anyone ever done it on their own?
createspace is much cheaper than lulu
any other recommendations?
