i guess i'll be a bit more specific: i'm looking at a three season touring tent.

North Face, Astral, Eureka.

I would stray towards looking at a search for "fire fighting tents" just to get a pretty good idea of what brand you ware looking for, then buy from someone else. They tend to get pretty pricy if buying from a wild fire fighter website.

And i guess it would depend on the weather conditions you are looking at.

what do you know about eureka tents? are they quality? they seem to be pretty cheap, and i'm scared that they would be in the same class as coleman.

i'm looking at three companies: north face, msr, and sierra designs.

i would probably go with anything north face. Just look for reviews when looking at different styles.

bump.

I'm in the market for a 4-season tent. Any suggestions? I've been browsing around through MSR and Kelty...

I just bought the MSR Hubba from ProLite Gear . it's a single-person, freestanding, three-season tent.

retails for something like 250 and I paid 185! I also considered the Sierra Designs Sirius 2, but opted for this one because it seemed like too good of a deal to pass up.

I set up my new Kelty 2-person tent in the booth at work to get an idea for how it sets up and breaks down. This thing is idiot proof. And more spacious than I expected, haha.

Plus it was awesome seeing a tent set up in the booth.

yay! I guess I didn't post here that I replaced my MSR tent with a Kelty one because it is a more camo color instead of like bright red.

First time staked down, and with the rainfly.

Just a real quick thing to see how it would all go up, etc.

Cool. We used a similar-looking one last summer, but its rain flap completely covered the entrance

Yeah, this is slightly elevated, which I'm sure I can fix with some finagling. I'm gonna sleep in it tonight!
