I am not necessarily in disagreement with this verdict. just to pre-emptively reply to the WELL WHAT ABOUT GOOGLE ARE THEY GONNA GET PUT IN JAIL NOW argument, The Pirate Bay hosted a torrent tracker, right? I don't know how this weighed into the verdict or anything, but in my mind this makes a world of difference between Google and them. however, if the precedent that this sets (or might set depending on the outcome of the appeal[s]) isn't very specifically worded about this distinction or whatever other distinctions they are making then it could be a very bad thing!
The verdict says they broke the law regarding unhealthy products. What?
I have very little confidence that the precedent this sets will be any good. sigh.
I am unconcerned. just another attempt to kill file-sharing. it is already too late.
