In any case, $500 seems a good price to me, I coughed up 900 euro for my thinkpad with almost the same specs -- That one is new and with 3 year warranty though.

You know checks are incredibly insecure and should be avoided like a leper with the spanish flew?
i think they're more secure here just because electronic transfers (ach) aren't very commonplace. from what i hear, in europe, there are more electronic transfers and they are easy to initiate. that's not the case here.

he says that if someone writes one of my checks fraudulently, the burden of proof is on me to prove to the bank that i didn't write it. how is it possible to prove that? i don't think it is.
regarding "demand drafts" or "paperless checks," he says, "Anyone can do this from any account to any other account." how? i don't think anyone can just do this. i'd love for someone to show me how, though.
there are occasionally bank defrauders around here, but they don't last long. i mean, the fbi loves going to work on this shit. if you aren't writing checks to people on the street, i think you're fine. only write checks to known trusted parties. problem solved, right?

it's been great for me since I installed it. no crashes or and instability at all. I'm actually considering buying it when it's released.
I got a free full copy through my school, well the MIS association. It's a deal through MSDNAA! I just found out about availability of Win 7 pro!
Hey asemi have you found the windows 7 nvidia video card driver? Not the windows generic video card driver but the nvidia one? It doesn't appear to be supported yet. I downloaded the driver from nvidia to find that it doesn't support T61's or lenovos. I checked on the lenovo site and there is no windows 7 video card driver yet for the nvidia hardware.
I'm gonna keep an eye on this O.o
