i just discovered that amazon web services has a console.

aws recently added support for cloudfront! this is great because i can manage s3 with jets3t, but in the past, i always had to download some other program just to manage cloudfront.

now i have the aws console!

I used to work with this HP stuff called Server Automation. And they had a shell app called "The Global Shell". That thing was freaking amazing. You could log into the shell. And navigate directory structures at first... that ran through network / device groups. Then into machines. Where you had very very fine grain acl controls for what people could do. Like providing read only access to directory structures in file systems for devs.

Was so cool. And the scripting options were insane. being able to execute scripts on device groups and the sort. And the whole thing tied back into a datacenter automation API in j2ee / python.

HP is probably gonna drive the product into the ground like all the software they buy out... but lord knows it was cool.
