splitting from the thinkpad love thread...

I'm curious about people's accuracy/speed with different pointing devices. try this game with your preferred pointing device and post the results!

I just used a pretty standard laser mouse at work and scored 99,000 with 92% accuracy. I'll try my macbook touchpad when I get home.

With my Logitech MX400 laser mouse:
Score: 189,000
Accuracy: 97%

I don't have Java installed on my thinkpad (FreeBSD, such a pain to install), but I can tell you now the score will be lower with the touchpad, and *much* lower with the trackpoint.
I like the trackpoint because I don't have to move my hands from the keyboard when moving the cursor, I do most my stuff inside xterms anyway ... Most mouse-intensive thing I do is play monkey island I think ...

now that I think about it, maybe not wanting to move too far from the keyboard is why I always accidentally hit the right mouse button on two-button touchpads. the way I move my hand down to use the touchpad is just by like rotating my wrist to the left. I don't move my arm toward me any more than I have to, so my hand is at a sharp angle to the left. using a desktop feels so bizarre to me, with the mouse so far away from the keyboard. I don't know that I'll ever be able to return to it without using a very keyboard-centric OS/WM/application.

if I had a desktop I would buy that. or if it wasn't 80 bucks I would just get it anyway.
