favored:
1. dubious - in the sense of a object or action that engenders doubt.

unfavored:
1. impacted - everything in the modern world 'impacts' everything else. current usage turns a meaningful and expressive word into a hackneyed and colorless word. why not use affect or influence?

the law is no protection
George Orwell says, "I once began making a list of writers whom the critics called 'sentimental'. In the end it included nearly every English writer. The word is in fact a meaningless symbol of hatred, like the bronze tripods in Homer which were given to guests as a symbol of friendship."

i don't like it when writers overuse the word instinctive or instinctively to indicate hasty action without reflection or consideration.

I hate the word `blog', it just sounds so ugly. I always use `weblog'.
