cool or crackpot?

I am currently trying one out. in my tests, it works surprisingly well at recording pen position. audio recording still has to be tested in the lecture hall.
only frustrating part is that it limits accessibility to movie files and formats generated as well as audio files.
cool.
but i think i might prefer my pen of choice, my paper of choice, and a badass sheet-fed scanner.
Did you have to teach it what your handwriting looks like first? We were talking about these at work the other day. Keep us updated.

he is not a very good lecturer so it is no very illustrative. i will post a lecture from meyer and one from wooldridge. that should be more interesting. one really entertaining thing you can do it tap on the paper where you have written notes and it will play the recording from that point through the pen (or in this case through the webpage).

I have one. It's invaluably useful at work.

Yeah it's wonderful stuff. Biggest good/bad thing depending on who you are... not everyone realizes it also picks up voice... I've had some folks in meetings unflinchingly say some pretty nasty stuff about other depts / co-workers while the pen was on in plain view....
That being said, use with caution in a corp environment.
As a consultant I see it as a protective measure for me. People will ALWAYS try to throw a consultant under the bus if it'll help them in any way. Being able to drop specific quotes on project goals, time estimates, and any sort of discussion relating to SOW progress is epic epic win. Also great for reviewing old clients when coming back.
But I could see a lot of people frowning on me walking away with a recording of an in person meeting... people aren't as guarded in person and in IT lots of what is said in person is pretty damned sensitive. So yeah, exercise some discretion... turn the pen off when people are saying stuff that could some day involve a deposition.
