why the hell would intel put a parallel port on a motherboard but not a de9m serial port? serial ports are still useful sometimes (consoles, apc upses, status lcds, and embedded stuffs, etc.) but who wants a parallel port? no printer or scanner uses them anymore. they are slow as fuck and huge.

i need a de9m, not a db25f.

hey, nny, if i wanted a small lcd on a freebsd server to display load, memory usage, swap usage, and mirror status, what would you recommend? (i'm willing to solder.)

thermal receipt printers we use at work are all parallel :/. it sucks.
