Quaint, but I definitely look for floorplans where the dining area shares open air with the kitchen. It's important to me to be able to talk to guests while cooking. Do you cook? :-o

on the real house there is a hatch about 2ft^2 which joins the kitchen to the dining room. it's about directly opposite from the doors which go from the dining room to the living room.
those designs are from 1990, the house has been jazzed up since, for instance there are two small windows on the outside wall in the living room.
cooking, I cook a bit, but nothing big, usually just to fill hunger between main meals.

I want very much to bike across the netherlands... I loved being up there this past summer.
