netflix says i have rated 705 movies. this number includes a single rating for an entire TV series that can be up to 30 hours per season. assuming i only watch movies once, that i have rated every movie i have ever watched, and the average length of a movie is 90 minutes i can get an estimate of the total amount of time i have spent watching movies/tv shows.

705*1.5=1057 hours

if i assume that there is 18 hours of consciousness in a day

705*1.5/18=58.75 days or 16% of a year. so, AT A MINIMUM, I have spent 0.59% of my waking life watching movies/TV.

i don't know if watching movies brings happiness. however, i do know that watching movies does not bring me closer to my personal life goals.

=> enough, goodbye netflix
