i got my second x200s today. it shipped on sunday via ups worldwide express. the delivery attempt was made at 3:30 p.m. local time.
both thinkpads are type 7465-cto. they share these components:
intel core 2 duo sl9400
320gb 5400rpm hard disk
thinkpad wifi
bluetooth
9 cell battery
the first one has these as well:
wxga+ lcd
2gb pc8500 ddr2 ram
windows 7 professional 32
the second one has these instead:
wxga lcd
4gb pc8500 ddr2 ram
windows 7 professional 64
---
lcd: the higher resolution on the wxga+ is definitely nice. i become saddened when looking at the wxga screen after looking at the wxga+ screen.
the viewing angles are marginally better on the wxga screen.
i have already taken apart the second laptop. based on what i've seen, i think that the wxga screen is upgradable to many other led-backlit lcd screens (whereas the wxga+ screen is reportedly not readily upgradeable). i also think that a camera can be added to the wxga screen (the bezel can accomodate it), while a camera cannot be added to the wxga+ screen without replacing the entire lcd bezel.
---
hdd: the first laptop contains a western digital wd3200bevs. the second has a fujitsu mja2320bh-g2. the fujitsu is noticable noisier.
battery: i think that the two batteries were produced by different manufacturers. the second one has an accent line that is not present on the first. the second also has a smoother plastic casing, while the first has a more pebbled, matte texture (which i prefer).
keyboard: the keyboard, palm rest, and keyboard bezel appear to be identical.

why did you change up your monitor on this one? glad to hear you like the wxga+
cant wait to get mine. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
i wanted to be able to upgrade to an affs+ screen. it's a straight-forward swap with the wxga screen. the wxga+ screen has a weird connector that would require some kind of special harness. also, if i'm going to swap the screen anyway, i might as well save $150.
my lenovo refund posted to my credit card exactly one week after they received the laptop. not too bad.
Took me 6 months ...
