So since it's tax season, there seems to be some debate as to whether or not it is legal to tax income. Some people go as far to say since there is no law in the books, they shouldn't have to pay taxes. A lot of people seem to be throwing around Tax Protester arguments as possible defenses. I need solid proof that we have to pay income taxes. I already linked them to the IRS document.

From what I understand, the argument comes down to ratification being done improperly. Which it was. But no court on earth would ever uphold your claim to not need to pay income tax.
HOWEVER. Filing and paying are different things.
You don't have to file federal income tax. But, you do have to pay. If they audit you... you can get hit with huge fines and late fees.
State income tax is a state by state scenario. In NY failing to file your state income tax is a misdemeanor.
Ok sorry. We are talking about Federal Income taxes, and I was aware of entire tax protester claims such as infringing on amendments 1 and 16. A lot of people seem to think its unconstitutional. They see one of those YouTube videos and then think its true. I need some help here.
