i like large datasets
so im not a big video game guy (i used to be years ago) but everyone in a while i get in the mood to play something. anyway i have a PSP that i've had for years but very rarely play it. i went to this electronics market here in china the other day to get my iphone screen replaced and saw all these games and shit there (even played super street fighter 4 before it was even released).

anyway, saw some PSP shit around there so i came back the next day with mine. and asked this dude if he could hack it or anything and he just looked at me stupid and basically said (with minimal english) - "you are in a chinese electronics market, of course i can hack it you idiot". so he hacks in it about 1 minute using the pandora battery technique. he hadnt told me the price or anything though. so when i ask he tells me in RMB and it turned out to be about US$6.00. Awesome. Well my girl and some other friends of ours have been wanting to get a Wii to play for a while. I've never played one but seemed fun enough to drink beer and play tennis on it.

So we ask how much and its basically the same price at home, except it comes with an external 250GB harddrive with 100+ games already on it. done and done.

you cant actually buy legit games here (that i can find). you can only buy bootleg ones. now i can just dload psp games via torrents and put them on my memory card. nice. plus i went to my dvd guy the other day and he has the packs of psp games. 1 pack is 5 dvd's filled with psp games. about 5-6 per dvd. that was also US$6.00. nice. plus since we bought the Wii the original guy gave me a lifetime membership card so i can just go in whenever i want and give him my memory stick and he will put any games i want on there. they have like 700 psp games on a harddrive and you just pick what you want. nice.

after that down the street from my apartment i found gameboy advance SP's for US$40.00. they have about 500 games on it when you buy it. just crazy.

so with all these games i have now. i only play FFTactics on my PSP. but just insane bootlegging going on. if anyone wants any games, let me know :)

this rules. I always end up getting a system for like one or two games, playing them for a while, then selling the system.

Don't Let Your Walls Down
i've started collecting psx games. mainly RPG's. it gets pretty damn expensive when your paying around $60 for a mint condition game w/ manual.

i dont play them though, i dl iso's of them and play those with ePSXe. i used to play a bunch of computer games but even that has dwindled. i played through dragon age origins (actually pretty badass game) but for the last 4 years about the only thing i've played is tf2. got into the starcraft 2 beta right before leaving pittsburgh, so got a taste of that. probably wont actually get to actually play it though until next summer.

it feels kinda weird that i would rather play around with my linux box installing and setting up different things just to see how they work instead of playing some game.

Whoa. Anyone interested in some Emulator fun? With Hamachi I believe we would be able to connect to each other and play roms on ZSNES.

Yea I did this last night with some Super Mario Kart people on snesot.com. I got my ass handed to me, and I was pretty decent according to the person I played. Hamachi is pretty good. Just be sure to get ZSNES 1.42.

i got a controller and hagane is still hard as fuck. i gotta learn all the moves before i even try playing the first stage. you get 3 hits before you die, and you have to kill everything, so you need to be accurate and fast and have good timing, and be coordinated.

another hard game: blackthorne, damn. it's doable though, unlike hagane. this one is a slower game but it's more of an item based strategy game, and you need to be aware of timing. since the game plays so slowly it's hard to get the timings right, the player is bulky, slow and cumbersome.

While backing up some important stuff onto my external hard drive, I discovered I still had all three Gabriel Knight games , both Blood , Alone in the Dark , and the 15th anniversary edition of Another World !!!!

I will be booked solid the next few weeks.

i played a few worlds of donkey kong country, and then i got to the last stage of megaman x. getting farther in blackthorne but i don't like how long it takes to kill humans without taking any damage.

i got all the items and upgrades in mega man x! (even the legendary hadouken).

good night snes catharsis

I was playing chrono trigger but used the in-game save function without realizing that would get wiped out when I quit zsnes :(((.

yeah you need to use the save state from zsnes asemi :)

alright we should do some multiplayer games, who's down?

i guess i have to revert to that older version of zsnes (for some reason?), and get hamachi.
