the law is no protection
because server is a pain in the ass on a desktop probably.

I still think 2000 was the greatest Windows ever... but might as well move to 7 now, it'll be the norm soon enough.
i liked 2000 a lot, too.
(Windows 7)
Yeah, 2000 was the shit.
i installed windows xp home on computers for my mom and dad, thinking they didn't really need the professional version. then i tried configuring windows for them, and most of the mmc snap-ins wouldn't work. D:<
so i'm installing windows xp professional. dumb xp home.
windows xp editions
windows xp
windows xp k -- links to alternative IM programs
windows xp n -- omits windows media player
windows xp kn -- omits windows media player and windows messenger
i'm installing kn (english) for them (compliments of msdn). i wonder what it's like.

toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
wondered what those were but never spent the time to figure it out
it's pretty cool that it doesn't have what i don't want anyway
why 7 64-bit over vista 64-bit?
isn't vista pretty awful?
Yes it was. Go with Windows 7.
i prefer windows xp over windows 7. i've had too many bad experiences with windows 7.
Such as?
windows explorer. it fucks up all the time on me. i have some funny screenshots. but i don't have anything to show for the times it deleted items other than those that were selected.

and yeah, that's why i run it.
WHAT THE FUCK
i was sorting some files that belong to a client. i moved some into a subfolder. they ALL just disappeared.
it caught me with my pants down because i cleared my backup to do a fresh full backup.
but i just found out that windows has weird random backups. thank fucking god. \\localhost\C$\Users\lucas\Documents\buckets (Today, January 02, 2011, 2 hours ago)
cool, windows explorer just crashed when i deleted a folder
Hm, never had problems with Windows explorer in 7. Then again, I mainly use explorer++ so I don't use it as often...
i'm having some weird fs consistency problems. it's awful.
