i like my flash memory to be fast. so what about micro sdhc from reputable manufacturers with a class rating strictly greater than two?

sandisk
the leader is weird about their micro sdhc class ratings. listings on newegg, amazon, and adorama have mixed stories regarding what class you're getting. i'd only trust b&h.

2 gb class 4, adapter, 5 yr warranty, $8 on b and h
4 gb class 4, adapter, 5 yr warranty, $9 on b and h
8 gb class 4, adapter, 5 yr warranty, $15 on b and h
16 gb class 4, adapter, 5 yr warranty, $30 on b and h
32 gb class 4, adapter, 5 yr warranty, $80 on b and h

lexar

8gb class 4, 1 yr warranty, $15 on newegg, $15 on amazon
16 gb class 4, 1 yr warranty, $32 on newegg, $33 on amazon

sony

4 gb class 4, adapter, 1 yr warranty, $9 on newegg
8 gb class 4, adapter, 1 yr warranty, $16 on newegg

i lost my SanDisk 16 GB Class 4 MicroSDHC card along with my Sansa 4 GB Indigo Clip+.

this time, i'll get the lexar. that way i can order from amazon. also, i want to run the same speed tests on it for comparison.

i'm now only looking at class 10 (UHS Class 1) or higher.

sandisk

8 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("ultra" product line), $14 on newegg
16 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("mobile ultra" product line), $17 on newegg
16 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("ultra" product line), $19 on newegg
32 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("mobile ultra" product line), $26 on newegg
32 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("ultra" product line), $30 on newegg
64 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("mobile ultra" product line), $55 on newegg
64 GB, class 10, lifetime warranty ("ultra" product line), $64 on newegg

so the question is this: why do the "mobile" branded cards cost less?

samsung

8 GB, class 10, 5 year warranty, $9 on newegg
16 GB, class 10, 5 year warranty, $17 on newegg
32 GB, class 10, 5 year warranty, $26 on newegg
64 GB, class 10, 5 year warranty, $63 on newegg

The Lexar Professional (600x) SDHC cards have treated me well in school ... but I didn't have to pay for them.

interesting bump

i got one of those samsung cards, and the ricoh SD card reader in my x220 won't read it using an adapter. i have to use another usb sd reader. it's bizarre, and it drives me crazy.

the best product (in my opinion) right now is probably this one:

sandisk extreme plus 32 GB, class 10, 80 MB/s read, 50 MB/s write, $40 on amazon

the sandisk ultra line isn't giving me quite the performance i desire.

haha, I use those exact Sandisk cards in my t3i. And a couple Ultra ... which aren't terrible, but yeah, the performance lacks.
