do any desktop-class motherboards support hot swap?

thanks! <3

my motherboard's specifications and manual don't mention it. i'm guessing that it doesn't support hot swap.

Your bigger issue is getting hotswap support on your OS. What are you running?

apparently you just need AHCI support to hot swap.

well, i'm looking for a 4-in-3 cage. i'm considering these:

inwin
xclio
norco

i bought the norco and a noctua fan to replace the stock fan.

19USD? Talk about overpriced.

it's a high-end fan. i usually go for scythe s-flex low-rpm fans, but everyone is out of stock of the low-rpm 80mm. i historically avoided the noctua because it's so pricey, but it's a good, quiet fan.

Nexus fans are high-end and half the price

that norco unit didn't fit because it's too deep (215mm total depth).

the inwin is 203mm, not including the fan (although the fan looks like it may clear the motherboard), and it uses a sas connector.

the xclio is 230mm including the fan (although the fan looks like it may clear the motherboard).

maybe i'll try the xclio, but i don't care all too much about hot swap.
