What do you believe the coming implications of nanotechnologies in biology and health sciences?
Downfall of pharmaco?
Segregation of classes lifespans more significantly?
I see a world where death is an option if you have enough money.
The beginning of this era of the immortal human being could start in my view in as little as ten years.
Tell me what you think...

I don't see all that happening in ten years. Mostly because -- how is the segregation of classes based on extended lifetimes going to really make itself apparent? So people make it to 130 instead of 120, I don't think the segregation of classes is going to be there.

I also think we have developed nanotechnology in it's infant stages. I don't see that the nanotechnology we have can manipulate every aspect of human biology to the point of extending our lives a drastic amount. I mean sure, if you have some specific ailment or bodily damage that's going to cause you to die, I expect that we have some ability to assist in areas we never were able before.

As for death as an option, that's just the beginning to a long set of ethical dilemmas. Ten years is a chaotically short duration to cover such a significant change in the human condition, for humanity I mean.

I also don't see it replacing pharma, people like their drugs too much.

What do youuuu think?
