reduction: every day, try to learn to enjoy life again. my shit has been fucked for two years. then, once i enjoy life, i'll appreciate my life. for the past two years, i have largely hated myself.

this thread should have been year-based from the get-go.

unresolved plans from plans v:

- get my class m (motorcycle) permit done
- complete the basic rider's course and get my license done
- buy a motorcycle done
- open an observatory/used book store. this is still a long-term plan!
- take calculus 1 and comp sci this fall done!
- decide on a degree in math, physics, or cs by the spring math! (probably)
- ? yep
- move to western mass in a year or two and finish my degree at the umass campus out there still hoping to work this out somehow between finding a job out there, class times, and a totally new campus; I'll look into it more next year

new plan!:

- successfully court coworker on whom I have a crush

that's all for now really. oh and I guess write more, but that's more of a general desire/new year's resolution/thing I realized I should do.

I've been enjoying my life so far this year. I'm not entirely sure why but can't complain.

I've agreed to the following fines with various friends:

NOK 1000 for eating candy (which includes "dessert", cake, anything with >20% refined sugar) during 2012.
NOK 1000 for browsing news websites other than 06:00-08:00. This ends July 1st.
NOK 1000 for each course I fail this spring.

no cake!!! does this also cover sweet breakfast pastries? I hope not.

I'll be in New Zealand until I have to leave in November. In the time I have left, I would like to save up a bit of money. I have been researching permaculture a lot in the last few months, and I will be going around NZ visiting a few permaculture farms and homesteads to kind of get a better idea of the principles. If I can make enough money, I might take a two week permaculture design class here, and depending on how that goes, I might do a 10 week internship in Ozzy.

This is all very recent, and I'm not so sure about it so we'll see how it goes.

Otherwise, I will work in NZ til November then go to Hawaii until December, then spend x-mas in L.A. with the family, then perhaps to Montana for a little while.

i spent last christmas in l.a. (in china town and silver lake/echo park). it kinda made me sad.

i hope you enjoy it more than i did! family helps--mine left on christmas eve.
