Here's something I found in my room while packing for my trip on Saturday. I don't remember what it was for or who it was about:
please her
- my feelings
- personal matters
- rightness of the cause
Have any that you honestly don't remember what it was for? post!
Oh I found another note. This one was actually not written by me, I picked it up off the floor at the library:
are there any ideal patients? -pg. 23
"children oblige the dream interpreter by dreaming simple wish fulfillments where adults build up such complicated defenses against their own wishes - and against the interpretation of dreams." -pg. 26
"if the method of dream-interpretation here indicated is followed, it will be found that dreams do really possess a meaning, and are by no means the expression of a disintegrated cerebral activity, as the writers on the subject would have us believe. when the work of interpretation has been completed the dream can be recognized as a wish-fulfillment." Freud.
So there it is, found note number 2. Any found note goes.

... and let the Earth be silent after ye.
Semi-off topic: Does anyone else pick up and collect photographs they find lying around outside? I started doing it a couple of years ago and it's really quite fascinating.
I've never found a photo just laying around. I did have a habit of saving parts of cut up photos for scrapbooking at one point.
On the topic of the habit of saving things: I have tons of magazines that are supposed to be for art projects. Well I'm tossing them, even after I meticulously cut out my name and address on every issue up until the last 5 or so in order to donate the collection to the library. The stack is in order and I'm not missing a week of eWeek.
I'm giving up on the custom backpack idea since I don't have work area to continually work on that project. I have all the scraps, straps, fabric from duffel bags and old backpacks and cargo pants that are going in the garbage.
What other dreams can I crush? Oh yeah I destroyed my hovercraft and only kept the engine in a coffee can. I threw away two stoves tonight. One was an old mini camping stove (I think the valve for the propane is buss'd) and an alcohol can stove.
I also threw away my membership application to ACM.

phi_: my roommate collects photos that he finds in the trash or in dumpsters. I imagine he would pick ones up he finds outside too. he only has about 10 right now taped up on his wall. he thought about starting a website dedicated to them.

the village
I stop at the village to visit my friend leonard. I am told to walk around to see if I see him and if anyone knows where he is. At a desk I see a pretty woman in her early 40's who has aged before her time, place her change on someone's desk as if it is the only money she has in the world. Near her I see a woman with two girls aged in range of seven to nine waiting to talk to someone. The only children are sparkle and bounce they are all wearing clothes you would have bought at wall mart when they hit the $2.00 rack.
what do you do
if you work at the village
and right in front of you
is an angel
who had to fly
too close to the sun
and whose wings
were made out of wax
i need a winged leopard with melting wings
yeah!

i order a lot of music from mail-order labels and some of them like to include stuff in the package.
one label from southern california consistently puts odd newspaper clippings, magazine collages, etc. in their packages. on friday i got a few records from them and on top of them was a found note with a bulleted list on it. i don't exactly remember everything on the list (i'm at work, will post tonight), but two were:
- esoteric university professor
- soup cart

So I was looking at my google contacts and I saw an email address I didn't recognize, "calver@unix.rulez.org". I found an email I wrote to calver, who never responded to my email:
date: 3/25/2006
http://unix.rulez.org/~calver/calver1.htm
Ok your site is awesome and you should update it sometime. I've been looking at it for a while now and it's awesome.
-danny
I just went and clicked pretty rapidly three times and got here:

WHO ARE YOU CALVER?
Hey wait I just looked at the timestamps in that pictures folder and that shit is new, March 2009. While the site was supposedly, "Last updated 11-04-2004".

Found a note scrawled on a piece of receipt paper on my bathroom floor just now (we've had a lot of people over the past week).
