here's some projection in the life of larz:
1.) move out of the cabin
2.) find some apartment with caitlin
3.) collect $7,000 over the course of august
4.) get a new laptop
i think i'm gonna find--when all this shit is over and done--i think i'm gonna find myself one smilin' motherfucker.
3.) collect $7,000 over the course of august
damn son how are you going to do that

Don't Let Your Walls Down
i must admit thats one hell of a goal
financial aid and research stipend
unfortunately, each goal comes with its drawbacks. it really sucks that my moving out of the cabin may negatively affect tc, but i'm hoping that it won't (i honestly don't think it will).
How come you want to move out ?
a. cabin
b. price
c. floor
d. ...
there's a huge list, don't feel like reiterating it for the hundredth time this week
asemisldkfj
the law is no protection
goals for me:
1. finally move out of this terrible apartment (happening september 1st)
2. buy a MacBook (this should be possible by the end of September)
3. deep, meaningful, not-very-heavily sexual companionship
4. have an at least decent semester at school
haha.. good goals
I don't know what you mean by number 3 asemisldkfj could you explain the last part?
asemisldkfj
the law is no protection
I just mean that at this point, and in general, I'm more interested in forging a deep, meainingful connection than rushing into anything sexual with someone I'm romantically interested in.
Gotcha! Personally I think it exists, but I've been apart from it most of my life. I'm looking too but not especially fervently. Hopefully paths will collide sometime, but I realize that I have a long way to go before women are interested in my assets (personality, skills, humor, money, hobbies, interests). It may be my excuse that people are generally too materialistic with relationships for me to forge some.
I think I need to date a _woman_ who knows what's up. I'm looking for deep and meaningful and mostly current _girls_ aren't fit for the role. My goal: find women!
How are you making steps toward that goal asemisdlkfj?
when i have a crush on a girl, it's almost always completely non-sexual. i'll be so caught up with her emotionally etc., i won't even masturbate or anything.
just need one of these to work out. i think it will. i just gotta pick up my pace to run.
(dp: notice my new user title. obviously larz didn't follow through very well with caitlin this morning.)
lr: I know I got the voice memo. Quality user title though!

the law is no protection
I think I've been meeting more people lately for whatever reason, which includes a fair amount of cool girls, but I just haven't met anyone that really sparks my interest yet. I consider it just a matter of time :). going back to school in September should help as well.
look, i'm gonna have to modify my point 2 to something much more awesome. i'll update soon!

1. Finish this damned movie (The Stranger).
2. Finish the other damned movie (Rendezvous in Black).
3. Finish the other, OTHER damned movie (Rossum's Universal Robots).
4. Get that debit card.
I'm actually doing number 4 today, but I put it on to feel like I'm working towards attainable goals.
1. Summer Belize trip.
2. Make arrangements to study abroad in Barcelona in the Spring.
3. Transfer to CSUF.
4. Finish up classes for Associates.
5. Don't drop below honors status, and make a marked improvement in grades.
6. Purchase a solid camera for the trips.
7. Migrate all my funds to one bank account. (change auto-deposit, and close current bank account)
8. Sell/give away/trash redundant things.
Descending importance. Good job asemi, photos? :D
1. graduate.
2. leave.

comes outta nowhere
1. graduate
2. work for evil corporation for a few years
3. start business
1. get thinkpad
2. configure thinkpad for days on end
3. read
4. school
nestor, how do you plan on configuring the thinkpad? any special os/apps/custom hardware hacks?
and what do you study?
i'm currently deciding between running SuSE 10.1 (apparently it runs really well on the TPs... better than ubuntu) and running something more exciting but less out of the boxy. other than that, i'm also planning on building a wireless antenna and i have some parts for a desktop lying around so i'll probably build a little curio box.
and i have to get ready to move.
i study commerce and economics.
cool. dannyp wanted to figure out if it is possible to move the wifi card into the lcd panel (where the evdo wwan usually goes).
both dp and i would like to run bsd, but i would not be happy with the lack of support for acpi features (hibernate, suspend). suse would be a good compromise between bsd and windows.
hmmm, i'm waiting for an x60, not sure what the physical differences are (other than the sloped front) between the x60 and x60s. i'd definitely be interested in moving the card, i've heard nothing but bad things about heat, etc.
i have no experience running bsd myself, i've run ubuntu, fedora core, and debian.
My plan goal number 3 is superceeded:
3. Transfer to a UC

so i took the gre on friday. i got 790/800 on the quantitative section and 470/800 on verbal section. :/
quote from ucsd's website:
"Minimum Acceptable GRE scores: Verbal Score 560; Quantitative Score 720; Analytical Score 4.5."
looks like i'll be studying up on some english and retaking the gre. ugh.

also, new goals for me:
1. still seeking a deep, meaningful, not-very-heavily sexual relationship
2. furnish my room more nicely (get a recliner from my mom's house, get a new bed)
3. code and deploy a website idea that me and a roommate of mine cooked up
4. do well this semester in school (this is looking good, I've just got to get through the next week or two with tons of stuff due and finals :))
5. find some good books to read (subjects I'm interested in: psychology, human history, history of Boston, racial issues in the US, hip-hop, and how any of these things are related to each other)
that's all I can think of for now.
1. learn how to work a relationship
2. learn to be patient
