the only reason i'd go with the samsong 225bw is because the bezel is smaller.. but i don't think i should care. not only am i getting this for productivity when developing (especially web dev.), but also for watching dvds. the better brightness/contrast/response would be nice for movies.
i think the price just went down (from $320 to $310) on the 226bw, but the shipping went from free to $15.

it seems like they tend to have lower max resolutions than CRTs of comparable sizes, yeah. but who knows where you could get a 22" CRT :). do they make them that big?
I think the 17" that I had was a pretty nice one anyways. I had no idea since I got it for free. I kinda miss it.
I don't know about the larger LCDs as much, but I've looked at smaller ones, like 19", and they do like 1280x1024. seems like a waste of a 19" monitor to me.

to be fair, the macbook is a widescreen and the CRTs I was looking at weren't.
