Interesting conclusions from the church.

... and let the Earth be silent after ye.
Ok, I may not support the war. I may not even support the troops. But saying "Thank God for dead soldiers" and protesting their funerals is just too, dare I say?, bat-shit insane. I'm normally peaceful, but I'd take a tire iron to those protestors. Grr.
I tried thinking up an obscure comparision about how they also support the government and they should kill themselves but I decided against it. That or talking about the constitution. Whatever. I'm outraged but I'm not going to reverse picket the morons.
guess i'm the indifferent one here.
Not really I'm indifferent in that they can think what they want. Doesn't mean it would make me happy if I died for a country I fought for only to be blamed for some bullshit that the government I works for doesn't support.

the law is no protection
Church members say the troops deserve to die because they fight on behalf of a government that does not adequately condemn homosexuality.
what the fuck?
I think phi_ hit the nail on the head the "bat-shit insane."
I'm not sure how I feel about the Respect for America's Fallen Heroes Act (I hope I remembered that correctly), but I'm inclined to say I'm against it, just because it's prohibiting protesting somewhere.
let's push a bill that allows the assault of people who protest funerals instead.

comes outta nowhere
Has no one else heard of Westboro before? It is not actually even a baptist church, it is one crazy guy and his inbred relatives living on a compound in Kansas.
I think I support that legislation because I don't think its aim was to quiet political speech. If you are protesting at a funeral you are just in bad taste--if you want your message heard, why protest in the middle of a family's private moment?
