andyp and I are on our way out. We leave at 4am. It's about midnight now. I am close to finished packing. I'm doing 2 last excel projects before, so that I can ditch my excel book. I have a whole lot of room left so I'll be packing quite a bit of stuff on the return flight I hope! If anyone wants something, I know it's kind of late but I will have to be online later on the trip to do some quizzes, I'll check here for requests.
So far I know one person that requests that I get a hat in vietnam, and another person requests a keychain for a keychain collection.
Pictures to come after!
oh yeah for those that don't know we're out march 1st - march11th.

a starving orphan child please!
picked up some snake wine! hopefully it won't be an issue bringing it over. the trip has been amazing and we're only about half through. we've hit temples in hanoi, a bonsai garden, the mausoleum of ho chi minh, and the markets.
hit halong bay, which was the best view from the sea that i've ever seen by a longshot. went to caves in the thousand islands by the bay, had some coconut milk(?) and saw a house on the top of an island mountain. went to a town that seemed dedicated to ceramic craft. around that town there was this warehouse like place that was really nice, there was huge marble works for sale. the place was full of sculptures furniture and textiles of all types. it was run by the 'unfortunates' which seemed to have disabilities of many kinds. but the people working the sales floor were very skilled at service and seemed pretty professional. they were mostly also pretty good at understanding english. i also bought a silk jacket there ;D
most of that stuff was in the hanoi area, now we're much more south in a city called Hue. we travelled the perfume river by boat and went to a kings temple that was impressive. i would say more about it but i was feeling pretty sick yesterday and about to pass out. i think i ate or drank something bad :\ i'm feeling much better now, but i was physically very tired, with a headache and a bit of a temp i think.. we also saw the female buddha who is atop the mountain, it's a very large structure that you can see from the river. oh and i almost forgot we got to see a buddhist pagoda before that temple.
this is just a short update, there have been many photos on this adventure :o
yeahyeahyeahyeah!
