what is that for, lucas?
no cable crimper, phi. plus I don't think the rj45 connectors at the ends of these pre-made cables are re-usable. this was mostly just a one time "I need to test something and I don't have enough crossover cables" thing. I do need to get a crimper though!
i don't know.. i had two switches that support ether-channeling, which means you can connect them with multiple linkand it won't break the switching (stp), it'll spread the traffic over the links, which is nice for a backbone.
in cat-5 cables, only the orange and green pairs are used, which is how things like power-over-ethernet work.. poe puts voltage on the blue and brown pairs. so i made one cable into two by using the blue and brown pairs for the second rj-45 connector.

I tried etherchannel at a lan and it worked fine until there was a large load and I think it got retarded and created loops. It was 4 switchs with 2 links per switch
