i tried looking for blog entries (wlw and pdp) and ttf posts about journals, and i couldn't find any. i thought we discussed this.

what do you journal on?

i've tried moleskines, custom leather journals, book-bound blank sketchbooks, and more. i don't like any of them.

dp: what was that one journal you have that you can wrap around and fold back for easy writing? that's what i hate about those three listed above--i'm not able to fold back the pages easily.

here's what i want in my journal:
5x5 quad rule
able to fold back easily
sturdy, stain-resistant cover
around 60-120 pages
waterproof if possible

thanks!

i've been eagerly awaiting your response while watching your name appear and disappear three times from the "online persons" list.

I carry around a lined moleskine for when I feel like writing. I only journal anything like once every month or two though.

i bought a miquelrius today. it's like 200 pages, though. :/ i wanted a slimmier one because i'll never use this one completely. but it was $10 at b&n.

phi_: want me to send you a rhodia pad? if so, let me know which you want. they are cheap and close to me!

I really want to integrate my journal and my datebook/planner. I don't know how though. suppose I could just use my moleskine.

such bullshit! i think it has about 300 leaves, which is 600 pages.

i've written 186 pages in it (less than one-third filled) and the glue that binds the leaves to the spine is not gripping tight. some of the pages very easily peel from the spine. i think it's from folding it back to write so much.

i'm still gonna try to fill all 600 pages, though. :)

i just hit page 200--one of the craziest pages yet!

it took me 3.5 hours to write 14 pages today, and i'm only half-way done with documenting my weekend!

I really wanna start journaling some more. I want to start making note of revelatory or new thoughts that I have so I can refer back to them later.

ultimately, my goal is consolidate knowledge.

fuck yes! that's what i'm about. reference and knowledge (and maybe wisdom?) consolidation.

i've written 186 pages in it (less than one-third filled) and the glue that binds the leaves to the spine is not gripping tight. some of the pages very easily peel from the spine. i think it's from folding it back to write so much.

i retired my 600 page miquelrius after 303 pages of writing.

i'm going to try to use a rhodia pad (a5 quad vellum, 21.3 lb).

lately I've been into the idea of being more reliant on my brain for knowledge storage than pieces of paper or text files.

so my rhodia pad got water damaged.

i'm weighing my options for journal media.
