try loading up quicktime with codecs and get a serial for quicktime pro. I bet you'll ditch vlc :).

transmission (bittorrent)
the new version of transmission is allowed on oink.me.uk!!! I'm pumped. I love transmission. bye-bye azereus.
i like transmission too but i can't find any encryption... :(

yeah, I think the only client for os x that does encryption is azereus. what do you need the encryption for? an https tracker or something? I've only heard encryption for bittorrent referenced in passing.

anyone know how to remove the eject button from the finder bar?
asemisldkfj

finder bar? like the finder's toolbar? you can go to view --> customize toolbar...
no, that only customizes the toolbar in finder windows... i mean the actual bar. the one with the little apple in the corner.

I turn off widgets :). it seems most of the useful ones are like weather ones and stuff, and I'd rather just go to a bookmark in my web browser than have some shiny thing that shows me the temperature taking up memory. it just seems most all of them are more suited to just be stand-alone applications. at least for the way I use my computer.

I have three unarchiving programs installed, not including the one that comes with OS X :(. I need to look into that.
isn't 7-zip enough? i'm looking into it for os x right now, it might be different

I thought that I installed The Unarchiver for some reason, but I don't remember what it was, haha.
the
7zx page doesn't say exactly what it supports, but I have a feeling it doesn't do rar or something.
From the website:
``7zX currently supports tar, zip, gzip, bzip2, UNIX compress, 7z, s7z and various kinds of segmented archives.''
Why not just use p7zip btw?

because I want to be able to double-click on an archive and have it unarchive. or is there a way to associate a command line program with a file type in a way that allows me to do this?
Right, 7zx is a GUI tool ><
There's EZ 7z:

the first beta of Camino 2 is out. now featuring draggable tabs, gecko 1.9, and middle-clicking-on-bookmarks-bar-to-open-a-new-tab (yeah, the last one is kind of silly, but I'm glad it's here now).
I've been using it since last night and it hasn't crashed once. I am loving it.
