My houses have been composed with meticulous attention to light, warmth, energy efficiency, and proportion. I have made the most of each cozy interior by minimizing transitional areas like hallways and stairwells and by using otherwise unusable space as storage. The simple, formal designs that have resulted are the best way I have found to order most any space and make it beautiful.
Guy generated a lot of press and commands higher prices for the homes now, this guy's really capitalizing on his philosophy too! Seems like an amazing dream manifesting.
This guy is great, I hope I can see my plans and philosophy become reality before I die!
Weird, I said guy a lot. Another clip from his site:
You know you have reached perfection of design not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away. --Antoine de Saint Exupéry

You know what, that may be ... but it's still cheaper than the suburban $100,000 homes that litter these parts. I'd be willing to pay the price of a car for those houses!
You should see housing costs in Toronto... a decent home that's not an hour commute on the busiest highway in the world is at least $1m.

Yeah, that's how it was in Singapore. My father's house was nearly $2 mil and just smaller than the standard American 2 story.

$100,000 dollar homes are expensive down there? geeze. anything under 500,000 seems cheap up here these days. 100,000 is a steal if it's a decent house.

great, I just said "$100,000 dollars."
nestor, is that including the indoor pool? ;D
same goes to phi's Singapore hand-me-down.

dp: No pool, small yard. Big brick wall surround it, though.
asemi: Yeah, well, real-estate is cheeeeeeap down here. But ever since HP moved down here and all the California people have started taking up space prices have shot up. Our house was $80,000 when we got it ... now it's $110,000. BOO!
