So my gateway decided to crap out on me tonight. NOT GOOD. Let me tell you the situation.
I can ping the router box when no computer attempts to get a dynamic address. All computers on the subnet are ok. I turn on my laptop I get an error.
Duplicate IP Address (Gateway Address) has been reported by FF:EE:FF:FF:FF:FF some bullshit like that. Then my connection to my desktop stops working. This is VERY odd. The fact of the matter is that I can still ping my webserver box, but not the gateway. On the gateway I can ping the outside.
[switch] [Webserver]
Topology: Cable Modem ---- xl0 [Gateway] xl1 -----[Access point] ------ [desktop]
[all others]
Only my gateway issues addresses. Also, dhcpd was trying to work on xl0, not xl1. Invocating it manually did not help. I think I might just reinstall OpenBSD 4.1 on it. This box is pretty empty.
Fuck you TTF. switch should be on top of access point, Webserver, All others are behind the switch.
the pre tag..
learn it,
live it
i tried to insert pre tags for you,
but it didn't look nice because you
didn't have it spaced correctly.
New gateway is finally up. Only took about 3 hours. Man that took a long time.
