Drunk by Myself
I recently discovered this nice drink the other day. I was in the Super Market and Erika suggested we should stop drinking so much sodawater, or how she said it pop(Nebraska). Anyways, I suggested we try Green Tea. I got one of the Lipton Green Tea mixes with Berry flavoring in case I didn't enjoy it. Well I Do. Now does anyone else drink Green Tea? If so, I want some recommendations as to maybe higher quality teas, as well maybe growing your own. I use a tablespoon of sugar to sweeten the tea as well, in case you guys were wondering.
I'm a bit of a tea nut.
The problem with bags is that they are sweepings. If you want real tea you should go to specialty tea store and get loose tea.
Make sure when you brew green tea that the tea isn't boiling. I've seen soooo many people pour 100 degree (212 degree?) water on green tea and that is a definite green tea cardinal sin.
Also don't leave the bags in forever. I don't know who started this trend but it's heinous. Take green tea out after a few minutes, delicate black teas after only 45 seconds or so. If you want to increase the strength add more bags.
Try some jasmine green teas, those are quite highly regarded.

White and black tea for me.
i like oolong, white, and black in that order. green is the lowest of the low to me.
didn't know that about the boiling water, nestor. thanks.
pretty similar to coffee temps, you want a good temperature steep :D
there's a whole lot of green tea and there's some quality stuff but I like oolong too!

larz: Forgot about oolong ...
Black > White > Oolong > Green.
the symbols make it seem like an objective statement :p there's high grades of all of those tea types, have you tried them in loose tea? I have a bad impression about white tea because I've had low grade ceylon tea, sweepings I suppose, thanks nestor.
have you guys had wheat tea? I like it iced in the summers!

I only have loose tea when applicable. Though sometimes I'll enjoy some iced bagged black tea, but that's when the family makes it.
nom nom nom pot of green tea
actually a garbage pail of sweet tea would be better right now
bought some really great tea a few days ago.
japanese sencha (green), matcha genmaicha (green, with roasted rice), and some chinese white

nothing is wrong - what are you scared of?
today I helped put on a Devanger (spelling?) Tea Party. it was more about the scones than the tea though.

You are all a bunch of benedict arnolds. I hope you choke on your monarchistic bile.

I choose coffee over tea nine times out of ten, but tea is pretty great in the wintertime.
To be fair, Canada does have the same Queen as the UK.

Okay the serfs are exempted from the benedict arnold remark... but not forgiving you for burning down the pink house.
I like tea, earl grey, hot.

I always wanted to like it like that (result of a trekkie family) but then one day I finally tried it and discovered I don't like black teas. Rough day. :(
i drank so much earl grey in high school that i can't stand the taste of bergamot anymore. i don't mind some more delicate black tea (like darjeeling) long as it's steeped for under 2 minutes. the puttabong i mentioned earlier is fantastic.
